I See a Trump “National Emergency” In Our Near Future.

After today’s show votes in the U.S. Senate, MSNBC was all a twitter — not electronically — about how “twenty senators from each party” were frustrated or infuriated by this government shutdown.  Schumer was seen going into McConnell’s office, and it seemed to the gullible reporters that a “bipartisan” solution to the Trump/McConnell government shutdown.  Oh, the same reporters were talking about how McConnell was going to be able to work a deal because he showed both sides they could not go forward.

Then, the thing in the White House pissed all over the so called bipartisan talks.

“As was made clear to Senator Lindsay Graham, the 3 week CR [continuing resolution] would only work if there is a large down payment on the wall,” White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement as McConnell and Schumer met.

And as reported by others on Daily Kos, Trump is having his aides work up a plan for declaring a “national emergency” to fund his wall.  I’m reasonably sure this is where all this is heading.  Trump has the Senate Republicans by the balls, if they ever had any to begin with.

If the BS the reporters had was true, there are supposedly 20 Republicans who claim to be frustrated by the government shutdown.  Last time I checked, 20 plus 47 Democrats equals 67, which is the magical number to override a presidential veto.  However, only six Republicans signalled that they were tired of the shutdown.

Never underestimate the craveness of politicians, especially Republican politicians.
