A newly released national poll by Sienna College/New York Times Upshot has Joe Biden with a lead of 50% as opposed to 36% for Donald Trump. The Sienna Poll is rated A+ by website 538. The survey was taken June 17-22.

Biden Takes Dominant Lead as Voters Reject Trump on Virus and Race

…Joseph R. Biden Jr. has taken a commanding lead over President Trump in the 2020 race, building a wide advantage among women and nonwhite voters and making deep inroads with some traditionally Republican-leaning groups that have shifted away from Mr. Trump following his ineffective response to the coronavirus pandemic, according to a new national poll of registered voters by The New York Times and Siena College.

A similar 14% lead was shown by a CNN poll released June 8 and caused Trump to demand a retraction and apology. CNN declined.

The Sienna/NYT survey also asked 1337 registered voters if they approved of Trump. Some 41% said they approved and 56% disapproved.

State results will be released Thursday morning for Arizona, Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, and Wisconsin.

Winning by 14% would be a 12 point improvement over Hillary Clinton in 2016 and could result in the biggest blowout by a Democrat since 1964. Trump would still carry about 10 states (AL, AR, ID, KY, NE, ND, OK, SD, TN, WV).
