GOP congressman: Trump's decision to abandon Kurds is 'weak' and 'depressing'

Welcome to consensus reality, Rep. Kinzinger!

Adam Kinzinger, a Republican congressman from Illinois, has at last seen what any non-cult member with eyes realized long ago: Donald Trump is a weak, whiny poseur who acts tough but has the gravitas of a rarefied mouse fart.

Appearing on Face the Nation this morning, Kinzinger stated the obvious: The only thing keeping the Turks from invading Syria was us. And Trump gave them the green light to slaughter our allies.

The Hill:

Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) on Sunday sharply criticized President Trump’s decision to remove U.S. troops from northeastern Syria, saying the 50 U.S. troops stationed at the border with Turkey would have prevented Turkish forces from advancing into the country.

“We all know that if there were still those … soldiers, Turkey wouldn’t attack,” Kinzinger, an Air Force veteran, said on CBS’ “Face the Nation.”

Taking aim at Trump’s argument that the U.S. should not be involved in endless wars in the Middle East, Kinzinger said the U.S. was “preventing an endless war and that actually commenced on Sunday a week ago.”

“Look at it this way. You hear the president and people like Rand Paul talk about endless wars all the time and it’s catchy, but actually we were preventing an endless war, and that actually commenced on Sunday now, a week ago. And so it’s really depressing, and for me as a guy that’s served in the military and really got into politics because I believe in the role America plays, to see this yet again, leaving an ally behind, abandoning people that we frankly told that we were going to be with is disheartening and depressing; frankly it’s weak. And I don’t see how it follows through on the president’s promise, his biggest promise in the campaign, to defeat ISIS, because I think it is going to resurge.”

Well, in Trump’s defense, he has no clue what he’s doing or talking about, ever. But on the other hand, he has numerous conflicts of interest. So there’s that.

It remains to be seen whether any ally ever fully trusts us again, but step one in restoring the world’s faith in us is to remove the orange tumor.

Everyone sharpen your scalpels. It’s gonna get gross.

Is Trump still chafing your arse-cheeks? Then Dear Fcking Lunatic: 101 Obscenely Rude Letters to Donald Trump and its breathlessly awaited sequel Dear Fcking Moron: 101 More Letters to Donald Trump by Aldous J. Pennyfarthing are the pick-me-up you need! Reviewers have called these books “hysterically funny,” “cathartic,” and “laugh-out-loud” comic relief. And they’re way, way cheaper than therapy.
