Received this e-mail from former presidential candidate, U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D. NJ), in support of Jon Ossoff’s (D. GA) U.S. Senate campaign:
In this November's election, we have an opportunity to renew hope in America's future.
That starts with taking back the Senate — which is why it's my honor to endorse my friend Jon Ossoff in his U.S. Senate race in Georgia.
I can't overstate how critical it is that Democrats retake a majority in the Senate.
And Jon's race could decide control of the Senate!
Jon's campaign is surging. He's taken a small lead in the polls, but the race is a true toss-up.
I will be thrilled to call Jon, “Senator Ossoff,” next year.
I know he will be a leader in the fight against corruption in Washington and voter suppression across the country.
And I know Jon, who learned at the feet of his mentor John Lewis, will fight for a new Voting Rights Act.
I don't have to tell you what a major problem voter suppression is in this country. Stacey Abrams would be the governor of Georgia right now if not for massive voter suppression.
Our right to vote is sacred, and protecting it is one of the most important challenges of our time.
I truly admire Jon's commitment to passing a new Voting Rights Act, and I'm excited to work with him on it in the Senate when we are colleagues.
Jon Ossoff is someone Georgians can count on to put them first. Mitch McConnell knows Jon Ossoff is a huge threat to his Senate majority, so his dark-money groups are already flooding Georgia with ads to stop Jon.
Jon can win this race and flip the Senate. But to compete with McConnell's dark money donor network, we need an outpouring of grassroots support from people like you.
In the most important election of our lifetimes, let's make sure it's a triumphant one for Democrats. Will you make a contribution to elect Jon Ossoff in Georgia and win the Democrats a Senate majority?
