GA-Sen A: Jon Ossoff (D) Pushes The Call For A NEw Voting Rights Act To Stop Voter Suppression

1 min read

Received this e-mail today from Jon Ossoff’s (D. GA) U.S. Senate campaign:

Last week's election in Georgia proved Republican officials will do anything to suppress the Constitutional rights of black voters in America.

Georgia's voting system is set up to fail by design in minority communities, and this is a shameless assault on our democracy.

That's why Jon Ossoff is organizing a petition calling on the U.S. Senate to pass a New Voting Rights Act IMMEDIATELY.

Missing absentee ballots, six-hour-long lines, precincts and counties starved of training and functional equipment–it's a disgrace.

More than a half century ago, Congressman John Lewis' skull was fractured by a billy club because he dared march in Selma, Alabama, for universal voting rights. And today, the right to vote STILL isn't secured in America.

After last week's election in Georgia, strengthening voting rights MUST be a top priority before the General Election in November.

If you're with us, sign Jon Ossoff's petition for a new Voting Right Act right now.

Thanks for your help with this,
