Received this e-mail from former Presidential candidate, businessman Tom Steyer (D. CA), in support of Jon Ossoff (D. GA) and Rev. Raphael Warnock’s (D. GA) U.S. Senate campaigns:
Jon Ossoff (D. GA) & Raphael Warnock (D. GA)
This election has proven something that many of us knew — change starts at the grassroots. And that change is happening in Georgia.
Last week, this team asked you to support the U.S. Senate campaigns of Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock in the Georgia runoff elections. Our goal was $20,000.And we raised over $35,000 in a single day — thank you!
Now, I am coming to you in order to support some of the grassroots organizations who were part of the hard work of flipping Georgia blue for Biden. WokeVoteand Amplify Action are ready to continue the fight for the runoffs but need our support.
I started working as an organizer in the South in 2009, and I know that the work done by these groups is essential to winning the races in Georgia.
WokeVote’s efforts on the ground center around traditional phone banking, contactless canvassing, organizing at HistoricallyBlackColleges and Universities, and a tour that focuses onBlackcommunities often overlooked.
Amplify Action’s efforts are focused on registeringBlackmalevotersthrough in person and online registrations. They’re on track to engage over 300,000 potentialvotersover the next few weeks.
Both of these organizations are laser-focused on the Senate runoff elections in Georgia. Electing Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock is our chance to flip the Senate and secure the Democratic control we need to pass progressive legislation.
Every dollar donated helps build the grassroots movement by providing resources for canvassing, phonebanking, andvoterregistration drives. That’s how we build change from the ground up.
The Politicus is a collaborative political community that facilitates content creation directly on the site. Our goal is to make the political conversation accessible to everyone.
Any donations we receive will go into writer outreach. That could be advertising on Facebook, Twitter, and Reddit or person-to-person outreach on College campuses. Please help if you can:
