GA-Sen A & B: Singer-Songwriter James Taylor Has Joe Biden & Georgia On His Mind
Received this e-mail today from singer-songwriter James Taylor in support of Jon Ossoff (D. GA) & Rev. Raphael Warnockâs (D. GA) U.S. Senate campaigns:
Rev. Raphael Warnock (D. GA) & Jon Ossoff (D. GA)
This year, I went all-in on helping elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in the most consequential election of our lifetimes.
Now, I'm still in this fight because our work isn't finished yet.Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock are still depending on each of us, and their January 5 runoffs will determine control of the Senate.
That's why I'm proud to be supporting the DNC and their effort dedicated to winning in Georgia: The Flip Georgia Fund. Every dollar to the fund will support the critical organizing work needed to fight for every vote in Georgia and in tight races to come — and with our party's final FEC deadline just three days from today, I'm personally asking you to chip in what you can to join me in finishing what we started:
Will you donate $7 directly to the DNC's Flip Georgia Fund to help win these runoffs, elect a Democratic-controlled Senate, and win essential races in the months and years to come? Anything helps before our party's yearly deadline coming up this Thursday at midnight.
I've been an advocate for just about as long as I've been a songwriter and performer. And while nothing will stop our fight for progress, it's clear these two runoffs in Georgia could either make or break Democrats' ability to enact meaningful change in our country.
We're so close to giving Joe Biden and Kamala Harris the support of a Congress who will listen to and work with them — instead of one that obstructs and challenges progress at every turn. So, with just eight days before the Georgia runoffs and three days until the final deadline of 2020, I hope you'll join me by pitching in what you can.
Also, I posted this yesterday but just wanted to remind you all that Beto OâRourkeâs organization, Powered By People, are holding virtual phone banks to get out the voters in Georgia:
This is not a fundraising email. Instead, Iâm going to ask you to donate three hours of your time to make an impact in the extremely important Georgia Senate runoffs.
Right now, Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock are going up against $43 million in ads from one of Mitch McConnellâs PACs. We may not have millions of dollars of corporate PAC money to throw behind Ossoff and Warnock, butwe have people power.
And as Beto often says, nothing beats talking to voters directly.
If weâre going to win these races and flip the Senate, we need to connect with Georgia voters one-on-one. Can you join us tomorrow or Wednesday for a phone bank shift?
When we needed people power in Texas, you showed up. We were able to break constant records for voter registration and voter contact, all the way through the polls closing.
Now, our friends in Georgia need our help. Can you sign up for one (or both!) of our phone banks for Georgia?
