Fresh off his re-election win, U.S. Senator Gary Peters (D. MI) is now helping Jon Ossoff (D. GA) and Raphael Warnock (D. GA) get ready to win their runoff elections. Received this e-mail today from Peters:
Raphel Warnock (D. GA) & Jon Ossoff (D. GA)
This grassroots team is responsible for one of Democrats' biggest victories of the year, and I couldn't be more grateful for what you did to make that happen.
But the race for the Senate majority is nowhere close to over, and right now it all comes down to Georgia, where Democrats Reverend Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff are in runoff races that could determine Senate control.
Early results show these races are close, but McConnell-backed dark-money groups are ready to spend BIG to buy their majority.
Outrageous levels of outside spending nearly allowed Michigan's Senate seat to flip red, so I know just what Reverend Warnock and Jon Ossoff are up against. But after a hard-fought general election campaign, their teams have been left short on the resources it will take to win this runoff.
So I'm asking you to make an emergency contribution to help Democrats stay competitive in Georgia. The hopes of a Democratic Senate majority are still alive, but it all rests on what we do now:
I couldn't be more grateful for everything you did to get me over the finish line. But now, I’m asking you to go one step further and help me fight for a Democratic Senate come January – it's our last chance to send Mitch McConnell's agenda packing, and time's running out.
So thanks for chipping in to help Democrats take back the Senate. Let's show the rest of the country why this is the best team of grassroots supporters around.
