Received two e-mails today from two members from The Squad in support of Jon Ossoff (D. GA) and Rev. Raphael Warnock’s (D. GA) U.S. Senate campaigns. The first one is from Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D. MI-13):
These two critical Senate runoff elections will determine who controls the Senate and the political agenda over the next two years.
Will we raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour? Will we pass water as a human right? Will we fully fund public education? Will we begin to address racial injustice and police brutality? There is so much that is possible in the New Year, if we can win the Senate back from Mitch McConnell and Republicans.
Since 2016, we have shown the power of our movement for change. In 2018 we elected the most diverse Congress in U.S. history and this year we defeated the impeached president―the first time an incumbent president has lost in 28 years!
Now, we must act with the urgency of the moment. Our communities cannot wait another day for pandemic relief and for policies that address racial, social, economic, and environmental injustice. And in order to do so, we must win the Senate.
Thank you for joining me in our continued fight for justice and equity.
Always serving you,
The next one is from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D. NY-14) campaign:
We’re teaming up with grassroots organizations on the ground in Georgia to reach voters ahead of the January 5th runoff elections.
With just weeks left to mobilize voters, it’s all hands on deck to replace two Trump Republicans in the Senate and clear a path for our most pressing progressive priorities.
Early voting in Georgia has already begun! Can we count on you to help call voters in Georgia and mobilize them to get out the vote?

The Asian American Advocacy Fund was instrumental in turning out record numbers of first time Asian American Voters. Now they’re working to mobilize the more than 240,000 registered Asian American and Pacific Islander voters in Georgia!
SONG Power is organizing to shift power, build community, and fight for liberation in the South. They’re looking for folks to lead creative cultural actions and mobilize LGBTQ voters across Georgia.
GALEO is teaming up with Mijente to turn out the Latino vote. Georgia has one of the largest Latino populations in the country! GALEO’s goal is to reach 250,000 latino voters in GA before the runoff.
These local organizations are invested in deep canvassing on the ground, but they need your help to reach and mobilize every voter in Georgia to flip the Senate blue in January. Your volunteer support will make sure they reach this goal.
But, if you can’t volunteer this week, a $5 contribution from you right now would help ensure these organizations have the resources they need to power their voter mobilization efforts ahead of the January 5th runoff elections — can you give today?
