Received two e-mails today from two members from The Squad in support of Jon Ossoff (D. GA) and Rev. Raphael Warnock’s (D. GA) U.S. Senate campaigns. The first one is from Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D. MI-13):
These two critical Senate runoff elections will determine who controls the Senate and the political agenda over the next two years.
Will we raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour? Will we pass water as a human right? Will we fully fund public education? Will we begin to address racial injustice and police brutality? There is so much that is possible in the New Year, if we can win the Senate back from Mitch McConnell and Republicans.
Since 2016, we have shown the power of our movement for change. In 2018 we elected the most diverse Congress in U.S. history and this year we defeated the impeached president―the first time an incumbent president has lost in 28 years!
Now, we must act with the urgency of the moment. Our communities cannot wait another day for pandemic relief and for policies that address racial, social, economic, and environmental injustice. And in order to do so, we must win the Senate.
The next one is from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D. NY-14) campaign:
Rev. Raphael Warnock (D. GA) & Jon Ossoff (D. GA)
