GA-Sen A & B: Jordan Peele & Bradley Whitford Launch “Get Out” The Vote Event
Received this e-mail today from actor Bradley Whitford on behalf of the Progressive Change Campaign Committee:
Happy New Year! Bradley Whitford here — the monster from Jordan Peele’s film Get Out who's not unlike the two GOP Georgia Senators we're up against in the historic runoff elections on January 5th.
Georgia tipped the general election blue and now they need our help to make sure the next administration has a Senate it can count on.
That's why Jordan and I are hosting “GET OUT the Vote for Georgia: A Conversation about Get Out and the Politics of Horror” Sunday, January 3rd, at 7pm ET with all funds benefiting the Democratic Party of Georgia, and we want to see you there!
Chip in any amount and get access to our conversation! You can also submit a question of your own for Jordan to answer.
I hope you’ll join Us!
P.S. The confirmation email with the link will come from “ActBlue Receipts” so look out for that! (If you don’t see it right away, be sure to check your spam.)
If you can’t attend, PCCC is also helping raise money for grassroots organizations who helping turn out Black, Latino, Asian American and young voters in Georgia. I also received this e-mail today from PCCC:
A veteran Democratic data scientist pointed out that “67,879 Georgians who did not vote in the general election have already voted in the runoff. A majority of them are voters of color.” Biden won by just 12,000 votes!
VOX put up this stunning headline: “Asian American voters could decide the Georgia Senate runoffs.”
That is a HUGE testament to the work being done by local groups organizing within the Black, Asian American, and Latinx communities in Georgia.
With days to go before the January 5 election, these groups are working hard to get every last voter to the polls. Can you help fuel their local efforts to flip the Senate?
According to VOX, “Georgia has seen a large uptick in Black, Latino, and AAPI residents…The AAPI population in Georgia has increased by 138 percent in the last 20 years.”
“Based on early exit polls, AAPI voters nationwide backed Biden by a 2-1 margin.”
Joseph, the dynamics at work in the Asian American community are also at work in the Black and Latinx communities. These communities — and the groups organizing within them — will decide the fate of this election, which impacts every issue the next two years.
Can you help make one final push to get key voters to the polls before it’s too late?
Thanks for being a bold progressive.
