GA-Gov: Kamala Harris (D. CA) Doubles Down To Make Stacey Abrams (D) The First Black Female Governor

Received this e-mail today from U.S. Senator Kamala Harris (D. CA) in support of Stacey Abrams (D. GA) gubernatorial campaign:

Team —

In just a few moments, I am going to ask you to make a donation to Stacey Abrams’ historic, grassroots campaign. Please give me a quick chance to explain why this request is so important to our cause:

First, let me tell you about Stacey: growing up, she was raised by three tenets: go to school, go to church, and take care of each other. Those values instilled in Stacey the idea that if someone was less fortunate, it was her duty to serve that person. This belief is what lead Stacey to public service.

As the first woman to lead either party in the Georgia General Assembly and the first African American to lead in the House of Representatives, she’s fought to fully fund public education, expand Medicaid, and create good-paying jobs for everyone in her state.

Second, let me tell you about this race: Stacey is tied in the latest polls against a Donald Trump devotee who wants to prevent hundreds of thousands of people from getting health care. If she wins, Stacey Abrams will become the first Black woman elected governor in American history and a powerful ally in the fight to stop Trump’s agenda.

That’s important — and why I’m asking:

Will you rush a donation of $10 or more to Stacey Abrams’ campaign and help elect the first Black woman governor in our history?

We need progressive leaders like Stacey Abrams on the state and local level who will fight to fund our public schools, ensure everyone has quality health care, and create good jobs with living wages.

That’s what Stacey Abrams is all about — and why your donation of any amount is so important. Thanks for taking action today.

— Kamala
