FL-Gov: Sen. Kamala Harris (D. CA) Refuses To Let Trump Take Down Andrew Gillum (D)

2 min read

Received this e-mail today from U.S. Senator Kamala Harris (D. CA) in support of Andrew Gillum’s (D. FL) gubernatorial campaign:

Team —

I am writing you this afternoon to tell you about a candidate who shocked everyone in Florida last night. His name is Andrew Gillum — a bold, unapologetic progressive who won the Democratic primary to become Florida’s governor yesterday. Trust me, you’re going to like this guy:

  1. Andrew comes from a humble beginning. His mother was a bus driver and his father was a construction worker. He was the first in his family to graduate college and has dedicated his life to public service.
  2. As Mayor of Tallahassee, Andrew has walked the walk— taking on the gun lobby in court to protect commonsense reform and standing up to Trump and Governor Rick Scott to defend immigrants.
  3. Andrew’s opponent, Rep. Ron DeSantis, is one of Trump’s closest allies in Congress. Now he’s running for Florida governor so he can enact the same, radical agenda as Trump on the state level. Trump even attacked Andrew on Twitter this morning.

Can you rush a contribution of $10 or more to Andrew Gillum’s bold, progressive campaign for Florida Governor? Every donation matters for his team after a bruising and costly primary. Donate here.

Just like Stacey Abrams in Georgia, we have a real chance to prove that Democrats can win anywhere when they embrace our diversity and unity and tell the truth about what’s happening in our country.

I hope you’ll donate to Andrew. No matter where you live, this is one of the most important races in the country right now — and he needs your help.

Thanks and take care,
