Eric Holder's NDRC Refuses To Let The GOP Gerrymander Kentucky & Virginia

Received this e-mail from former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder’s group, the National Democratic Redistricting Committee:

We're less than two years away from redistricting. And what happens in this year's elections will determine who's at the table.

Who will be signing the maps in Kentucky? Will it be far-right Republican and least popular governor in the country Matt Bevin? Or will it be Democrat and working families champion Andy Beshear? This 2019 governor's race could go either way according to the polls.

Who will be drawing the maps in Virginia? Will Republican House Speaker Kirk Cox (“Virginia's Mitch McConnell”) still be in office to gerrymander again in 2021? Or will he be defeated by Democrat Sheila Bynum-Coleman in 2019 in a district that now leans Democratic thanks to a court decision that struck down a manipulated map?

It all depends on you. Redistricting is a certainty, but fair maps aren't. What you do THIS YEAR will determine the next decade's worth of maps in state after state. Will you chip in to help the NDRC achieve fairness in our elections?

Thanks,
Team NDRC
