Driver rams Capitol barricade, hits two Capitol Police officers, killing one. Suspect is dead.

With reduced barriers surrounding the Capitol grounds, at about 100pm ET, a vehicle attempted to beach the DC Capitol perimeter. Two Capitol Hill police officers were injured. The suspect driver was shot after brandishing a knife at other officers. The suspect subsequently died. One officer remains in the hospital in critical condition. There was a law enforcement briefing at 245pm ET when it was announced that one of the injured officers died. Updates as they occur.

Capitol Police said two officers were injured when a vehicle rammed into them near the U.S. Capitol early Friday afternoon.
 
Police said a suspect was in custody. They said both officers are injured and all three were taken to the hospital.
All buildings on the U.S. Capitol complex were put on lockdown.
The U.S. Capitol Police said on Twitter that the incident occurred an access point along Constitution Avenue.
