Received this e-mail from U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin (D. WI) in support of John Hickenlooper’s (D. CO) U.S. Senate campaign:
Earlier this month, Wisconsinites were forced to make an impossible choice between their health and their right to vote in the middle of this pandemic. It was an unfair, disgraceful act of voter suppression on the part of Republicans in the state legislature all the way up to the Supreme Court.
We learned a critical lesson that day: Republicans will stop at nothing to make it harder for folks to exercise their right to vote, which means we must ensure that every American can vote-by-mail in the 2020 election and beyond.
In Colorado, John Hickenlooper got it done. As governor, he signed vote-by-mail into law, and ever since, folks in his state have been able to safely vote from home. John proved these reforms work and is now advocating to expand vote-by-mail to the rest of the nation — this is exactly the kind of leadership we need in the Senate.
That’s why I’m supporting John for U.S. Senate, and I’m asking you to join me:
Can you split a contribution between John Hickenlooper’s Senate campaign and our work to flip the majority? This could be one of the four seats Democrats need to take back the Senate. Your donation today will help us do just that.
John has a record of getting things done — from expanding access to health care to fighting climate change, signing gun safety measures, and expanding vote-by-mail. We need a leader like him in the Senate.
Not only that, but Colorado is the best chance Democrats have of flipping a Republican-held Senate seat. Anything you can chip in today will make a huge difference for John’s campaign.
