CO-Sen: John Hickenlooper (D) Pressures Trump & Congress To Fully Fund The U.S. Postal Service

Received this e-mail today from former Governor John Hickenlooper’s (D. CO) U.S. Senate campaign:

Folks,

The United States Postal Service is essential to American society. Mail carriers deliver mail, news, ballots, and essential goods like food and life-saving medications through snow, rain, heat, and the dark of night. And yes, a pandemic too.

But right now, the US Postal Service needs our help. This pandemic has hit the USPS hard, and without an immediate influx of funding, it is on track to run out of money soon.

Yet, President Trump and Mitch McConnell have refused calls to fully fund the Postal Service. That’s just wrong.

Millions of Americans — especially right now — rely on the Postal Service for essential goods and medicines. And with the pandemic threatening to upend our elections, we need a functioning postal service to enable people across the country to vote by mail this year.

I’m not one to exaggerate, but allowing the USPS to fail would threaten our elections and the health and safety of people across the country, and put hundreds of thousands of people out of work.

That’s why I’m asking you to sign my petition demanding President Trump and Congress act quickly to save the United States Postal Service »

Thank you for raising your voice right now. The USPS is essential to American life, and we cannot let it fail.

— John
