Charge them all with TREASON, including any GOP Rep defending the violent coup attempt

I’m done playing.

I have a background in law enforcement, so I’m first of all very, very, very angry that it was allowed to get to this point. More security was needed.  Regardless, Trump’s people have now committed the most egregious act against democracy.

Storming the capitol building is beyond insurrection. Violence has occurred, police have been assaulted and several have been severely injured. This is the textbook definition of treason, which is “the crime of betraying one's country, especially by attempting to overthrow the government”.

But so is “giving aid and comfort to the enemy.”

Any Trump politician still trying to defend this, needs to be tried for treason. First order of business in the new administration. There has to be penalties for attacking democracy, or we won’t have one.

This will be put down. The issue is what we do afterwards. There is no “moving forward” and all's forgiven.

We have never been in a more perilous time since the Civil War.

That means making tough calls that people on our side are usually loathe to make. It means trials for treason against those who stormed the capitol and those giving them aid and comfort, which can include the death penalty. I don’t want it, but we are here.  Supporters of democracy need to be strong if we have any intention of keeping it.
