CA-25, 39, 45, 58 & 49: Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D. MA) Helps The Blue Wave Hit California Hard

3 min read

Received this e-mail today from U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D. MA):

Everywhere Elizabeth Warren goes, people ask her: “How can I get in this fight in 2018?”

This year could be historic – and California will be right in the middle of it. We have a once-in-a-generation group of smart, tough, passionate candidates running up and down the ballot who are ready to fight for working people in California and all across the country.

This year, we need to defend the Governor’s Office to make sure that it stays in Democratic control. And California has important House races that can help Democrats take back control of Congress.

But all of these campaigns need some grassroots muscle to stand up to the powerful interests and win on November 6th. Here are just some of the candidates who need help from all over the state to win:

Katie Hill, California Congressional District 25
As the Executive Director of People Assisting the Homeless (PATH), Katie has been on the frontlines of confronting homelessness and poverty in California. Katie is devoted to helping families, addressing poverty at its roots, and bringing tangible and real change to the 25th District. Will you stand with Katie and help her flip this seat from red to blue? Volunteer or Donate

Gil Cisneros, California Congressional District 39
A Navy Veteran, Gil has been a champion for veterans, while also serving the greater good. Gil is the President and cofounder the Gilbert & Jacki Cisneros Foundation, an organization committed to strengthening public schools and creating college opportunities for students and veterans. Gil also served on the Advisory Board of Michelle Obama’s Reach Higher Initiative for college access. We need more leaders like Gil in Congress. Can you help fight for him? Volunteer or Donate

Katie Porter, California Congressional District 45
As a consumer protection attorney, Katie has been on the front lines fighting against Wall Street banks and powerful special interests for nearly 20 years. Kamala Harris appointed Katie as California's monitor of the National Mortgage Settlement when the five biggest Wall Street banks promised billions in relief to homeowners they cheated. She held the banks’ feet to the fire and securedover $18 billion for tens of thousands of California families. We need more leaders like Katie in Congress. Can you help Katie in this fight? Volunteer or Donate

Mike Levin, California Congressional District 49
As an environmental attorney and clean energy advocate, Mike has dedicated his life to fighting climate change. Mike believes in facts. Now, more than ever, we need leaders like Mike in Congress. Volunteer or Donate

Harley Rouda, California Congressional District 48
As an entrepreneur, Harley has built organizations that work and created good middle-class jobs for thousands of employees that have helped support their families. Harley needs our support to turn this district blue. Volunteer or Donate

Based on the local information we have for you, the following Democratic candidates will also be on your ballot:

Gavin Newsom California for Governor

Alex Padilla for California Secretary of State

Xavier Becerra for California Attorney General

Fiona Ma for California Treasurer

Remember, voter registration deadlines can sneak up on everyone, so be sure to confirm your voter registration and polling place using and make sure everyone you know does, too.

As Elizabeth always says: “We can’t win if we don’t fight.” In California, it will be up to you – to level the playing field for working people all across this country.

We’ll have more ways to help out in California soon, so please stay tuned!

Team Warren
