This week Bryant Gumbel devoted his “Real Sports” show to the issues that have arisen since the police murder of George Floyd, including reactions across the Sports World, and combined that with looking at the impact of Covid-19 on the world of sports. The entire episode is worth your attention, even if you are not normally into sports.
The final episode of the broadcast was to revisit and expand on a story first broadcast in 2009, about the shooting of Bobby Tolen Jr in front of his own home as a result of police action based on an incorrect license number. That case is by itself anger producing.
It was immediately after that story that Gumbel ends his broadcast with the following commentary, which I commend to your attention.
