AZ-Sen: LGBTQ Victory Fund Helps Kyrsten Sinema (D) Defeat The Pence/McSally's (R) Anti-LGBTQ Agenda

Received this e-mail today from the LGBT Victory Fund in support of Rep. Kyrsten Sinema’s (D. AZ) U.S. Senate campaign:

It’s our displeasure to (re)introduce you to Rep. Martha McSally – Mitch McConnell’s handpicked candidate, anti-LGBTQ conservative darling and Rep. Kyrsten Sinema’s official opponent. Oh – and she’s also one of Mike Pence’s BFFs.

Want to make Pence really angry? Donate directly to Kyrsten Sinema now >>

Look how cozy Martha and Pence were at a recent NRSC fundraiser:

Last we heard, Mike Pence wasn’t allowed to go near a woman that isn’t his wife, so he and Martha must be pretty good friends. Along with Pence, she’s got plenty of other conservative, big-money, anti-LBGTQ friends – like Karl Rove and Mitch McConnell – who are spending 6 MILLION dollars to defeat Kyrsten and elect Martha starting next week. The Koch brothers and Sheldon Anderson are dumping money into McConnell’s Senate war chest – and you know those dollars won’t support LGBTQ candidates. They’re going to attack Kyrsten with everything they’ve got.

All that conservative money is headed STRAIGHT for Arizona. Donate directly to Kyrsten NOW >>

If Martha wins, she’ll continue propping up Trump and Pence’s anti-LGBTQ agenda. As a Congresswoman, she voted 15 times to defund Planned Parenthood, supports a constitutional ban on marriage equality and has said that trans children are a danger to other children. She refuses to comment on trans troops in the military or a host of other LGBTQ issues.

We know that Kyrsten Sinema will fight for LGBTQ rights – she’s been a fighter her entire career. That’s why Pence, McConnell, the Koch Brothers and Karl Rove are spending So. Much. Money. to beat her!

Donate directly to Kyrsten now – and make LGBTQ history. Nothing would make conservative megadonors angrier. >>

Have a great long weekend,

By the way, kudos to ThinkProgress for also highlighting this:

Rep. Martha McSally (R-AZ) falsely claimed Fox & Friends on Friday that she never was skeptical of Donald Trump. What’s more, she bragged, she votes with the president “97 percent” of the time.

That’s a new position for McSally — previously, she’s touted her independence from her party (and from the president), and railed against partisanship in other elected officials.

When McSally ran for Congress in 2014, she assailed incumbent Democrat Rep. Ron Barber for “only” voting against his party 20 percent of the time. Though Barber was statistically one of the most bipartisan members of Congress, she attacked him for not being bipartisan enough. “I don’t think it’s bipartisan when you say you voted against your party only 20 percent of the time,” she said. “If that’s what’s going on in our country, that’s what’s wrong with Washington, D.C.”
