AZ & MI-Sen: Sen. Chris Murphy (D. CT) Helps These Democrats Win A Senate Majority

Received this e-mail today from U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D. CT) in support of Mark Kelly’s (D. AZ) and U.S. Senator Gary Peters (D. MI) re-election campaign:

If we’re going to retake the Senate in 2020, then we’re going to have to save some seats and flip a few others.

Today, I want to ask you to support two of my friends running in states that Trump won in 2016.

First, the seat we need to hold: Senator Gary Peters is up for his first re-election in Michigan, and he’s one of the most vulnerable Democrats in our caucus.

And then one we can flip: Mark Kelly, former astronaut and the husband of Gabby Giffords, is running in Arizona. We gained a seat there in 2018, and now we have the chance to do it again.

Will you split a $5 donation among Senator Gary Peters, Mark Kelly andmy campaign? Both of them are coming up on their first FEC deadline of the year, and there’s nothing more important right now than providing their campaigns with a really strong start.

Senator Peters was one of the original co-sponsors of my universal background checks bill earlier this year, and no one has done more for the anti-gun violence cause than Mark Kelly and Gabby Giffords. To beat the NRA, I need both of these guys in the Senate.

Democrats cannot win back the Senate if we don’t save Senator Peters’ seat and flip the Arizona seat to Mark Kelly.

Please split a $5 donation before tomorrow’s official end-of-quarter deadline. These will be tough races, but with your help, they can win.

Thanks in advance for chipping in.

Every best wish,

Chris Murphy
