Received this e-mail yesterday from Dr. Al Gross’ (I. AK) U.S. Senate campaign:
Sea ice melting. Zombie wildfires raging. Fish dying. Temperatures skyrocketing.
It sounds like an apocalyptic action movie — but it's actually something far scarier:
This is the reality of climate change here in Alaska.
Just last month, Western Alaska saw its hottest May ever — marked by almost all of the Bering Sea ice melting. Meanwhile, further to the east, wildfires raged throughout our state across dried-out soil and brush.
Our state, our country, and our planet are undeniably in crisis. Yet our leaders in Washington are far more interested in protecting their special interests than they are in preserving our home.
The facts are speaking for themselves — and it's time Dan Sullivan starts listening. Add your name right now and demand that Mitch McConnell, Dan Sullivan, and all of Congress take action against climate change — before it's too late.
From Alaska's vulnerable geography to our fish-dependent economy — you would think that Dan Sullivan would take a stronger stance on climate change.
Instead, he's voted with Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell 97% of the time, and we know all too well that they don't care about the crisis our planet is facing.
They've even gone so far as to deny it, with Trump calling it a “Chinese hoax,” and Mitch stating that he doesn't buy it.
Our lives are on the line. Our economy is at risk. Our planet is in trouble.
We've already waited too long for Dan to stand up for science and stand up against Mitch and Trump. We can't afford to wait any longer. Sign the petition right now in support of passing new climate change legislation.
