Received this e-mail from former presidential candidate, South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg (D. IN), in support of Pennsylvania Auditor General, Eugene DePasquale’s (D. PA-10) congressional campaign:
I ran for President because I believe that change is something worth fighting for, but that goes far beyond the White House. We must also protect and expand our Democratic House Majority, and one of the best opportunities to do that is with Eugene DePasquale in Pennsylvania’s 10th district.
We need leaders who can rise to the occasion and tackle the tough issues that lie ahead. I know Eugene is up to the task, but he needs all of us backing him in order to win this November.
I couldn’t be prouder to support a leader like Eugene, and I’m asking you personally to chip in whatever you can to his campaign before his critically important FEC fundraising deadline in just a few short days.
Friend, our country is facing unprecedented challenges, and dysfunction in Washington has only made matters worse. In Eugene’s time as Auditor General, he has confronted dysfunction and has actually done something about it. He’s increased transparency and accountability in government, restored trust in Pennsylvania’s institutions, and saved taxpayers millions of dollars in the process.
That’s exactly why special interest groups have already committed over a million dollars to propping up his opponent and attempting to buy this election. It’s going to take a true grassroots effort to fight back against their influence and flip this seat blue.
