Trump's COVID-19 National Emergency took longer to declare than his 'wall' National Emergency

The dimensions of the Trump inaction and now profiteering from COVID-19 have become clearer. A Trump emboldened by an impeachment acquittal felt no need to respond to a “foreign” pandemic.

Trump’s nativist denial, conditioned by his attacks on international institutions, colored a negligent US response much like his treatment of Puerto Rico, which he once actually identified as a country with a president.

And $50 billion in federal emergency aid surely wouldn’t be abused by some state governments. Then again we might visit the CT of FEMA camps which only now bears a resemblance to border detention camps.
