As part of the ongoing project to catalog every awful thing the Trump Administration has done as a reference for future political arguments and whatever few posterity survives to see 2020, here’s everything awful the Trump Administration has done this week.
1683. Dialed up efforts to build the border wall
1684. Gutted the staff overseeing more than $1bn in aid to Iraq
1685. Sued by environmental groups for his tailpipe emissions standard rollback
1686. Reversed Obama era safety regulations on hazardous materials
- Trump’s Supreme court blocked a House Subpoena for Trump’s financial records
- Had Rudy Guiliani pursue business deals with Ukranian businesses while trying to accuse Biden for doing the same thing
1689. Contradicted his testimony by denying he instructed Guiliani on Ukraine
1690. Moved to cut financial contribution to NATO
1691. Sued by House committee for brazen obstruction of the census probe
- It was revealed the administration projected that its border separation policy would separate 26,000 children from their parents, an amount far greater than they had the ability to track, but did it anyways
- A judge rebuked Trump, telling him he was “not a king” when he refused to allow the House to subpoena Don McGahn
Gobble, gobble. It’s Thanksgiving, and we have a horn-of-plenty-o-dumpster fires burning away. The Ukraine scandal continued to unfold, with the New York Times revealing the Rudy Guiliani had pursued business deals in Ukraine while Trump was pressuring the government to investigate Biden. Meanwhile, it was revealed the administration went ahead with its border separation policy despite knowing there would be no way it could track all the children they detained.
As always, I don’t expect to catch everything, so let me know if there’s anything you think I’ve missed. The full omnibus is being maintained here (a spreadsheet version can be found here). For an overall summary, click here.
