Former Republican Governor of Ohio John Kasich told CNN that Donald Trump should be impeached based on his withholding of aid to the Ukraine for political reasons.

(CNN)Former Ohio Gov. John Kasich said President Donald Trump should be impeached, a major switch for a former Republican presidential candidate who had previously said there was not enough evidence to impeach the President.

Kasich said he would have to see the articles of impeachment before he could decide whether Trump should be removed from office. He said the “final straw” was the admission yesterday by White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney that there was a “quid pro quo” for the Ukraine to receive military aid that had been approved by the US Congress.

Mick Mulvaney, the acting White House chief of staff, told reporters that the Trump administration “held up the money” for Ukraine because the President wanted to investigate “corruption” in Ukraine related to a conspiracy theory involving the whereabouts of the Democratic National Committee's computer server hacked by Russians during the last presidential campaign. When pressed on whether the President sought an exchange of favors, Mulvaney said, “We do that all the time with foreign policy.”

One question. What does Kasich do if Trump survives impeachment and continues to run for re-election? Could he cause Trump trouble in Ohio, a must win state?
