The Palindrome Presidency

A mathematical phenomenon concludes in 3 days. Starting September 10, 2019 (9-10-19) thru September 19, 2019 (9-19-19) the numbers read the same backward and forward; the epitome of out of the ordinary.  So is the nature of the White House, and its’ band of merry men and women.  Surprise, surprise, another National Security Adviser is gone, Brett Kavanaugh is embroiled in another allegation of sexual misconduct, and according to the President another predominantly black region of the world (the Bahamas), is trying to sneak in drug dealers and gang members. Mr. Trump, who at one time, entered his rallies to the tune of ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’ (over the objection of the Rolling Stones) instead should have pirated ‘Same Song’ from the group Digital Underground.

The words inaction, inattention, incompetence, and idiocy have been used so often since Mr. Trump took office in January of 2017, that the United States and the world have become inured to their use.  Based on nothing, the President pulled the U.S. out of the Iran nuclear agreement. He [Trump] appointed an acting National Security Adviser [Charles Kupperman] from the Reagan era, to replace John Bolton. Kupperman has openly spoken of a winnable nuclear war.  Does he really believe that the bluster of Bolton or the potential blunder of Kupperman scares the world? The President told the world that he was awaiting the orders of a believed murderer to wage war on Iran. In a tweet, Mr. Trump wrote, there is reason to believe that we know the culprit, are locked and loaded depending on verification, but are waiting to hear from the Kingdom as to who they believe was the  cause of this attack and under what terms we would proceed!”

So not only must we allow the Trump family to benefit financially from his ties to the Saudi government [Kingdom] but apparently we are offering to fight their battles too. I guess Mr. Trump fancies himself as the Crown Prince’s button-man, his Luca Brasi, “I am honored and grateful that you invited me to your home today…” Godfather.  My writing, in relationship to the President, is driven by whimsical caricature and preposterous characters because we have an example of both occupying the White House.  Many people have commented to me about how infuriated I must get or how awful it must be to watch the country fall from grace.

This country has endured worse than Donald Trump and survived, because—agree or disagree, there were common purposes and common decency, that eventually won the day.  My faith is shaken because for the first time a political party is aiding, and abetting criminality helped by a propaganda network. When the Republican party lifts the edge of the carpet while the President sweeps, the dust cloud of his vile racism, sexism, xenophobic hatred, and anti-Semitism floats over to Fox News, leaving everything in its wake covered in filth.

ORDER NOW

Mr. Trump will go on lying, tweeting and stealing from the taxpayers.  He will continue distracting, dissembling and disavowing the truth. At some point, just like the palindrome week, the numbers will not add up and the rational patterns to which we are familiar will emerge once again.

Vote in 2020 for Change.
