KY-Gov: Sen. Tim Kaine (D. VA) Helps AG Andy Beshear (D) Get Ready To Beat Matt Bevin (R)

Received this e-mail today from U.S. Senator Tim Kaine (D. VA) in support of Attorney General Andy Beshear’s (D. KY) gubernatorial campaign:

I didn't expect to be writing you about a toss-up election in Kentucky, but Virginia isn't the only Commonwealth in the country that can experience a political turnaround.

Virginia also isn't the only Commonwealth where there are huge elections this year. While we're working towards securing a Democratic majority here at home, Kentucky has the chance to replace an extreme Republican governor with a strong Democrat, Andy Beshear.

In the primary election earlier this year, Democratic Attorney General Beshear earned 13,000 more votes than the incumbent governor, Republican Matt Bevin. That tells me something big: Andy's really got a shot at winning in November. But he could use our help if he's going to make it happen. Will you join me in stepping up to support Andy Beshear today?

As Attorney General, Andy has taken on the opioid crisis, fought for Kentuckians with pre-existing conditions, and supported public employees at every turn. He’s ready to focus on the positive change that strong leaders can bring about for Kentucky families, like funding public education and creating good-paying jobs.

Midnight on Sunday marks a major monthly deadline for Andy's campaign. It's critical that Andy reports strong fundraising numbers — especially since the incumbent governor has self-funded his campaigns in the past. He doesn't rely on grassroots support from people like you, but Andy does. Please chip in whatever you can to support Democrat Andy Beshear's campaign for Governor of Kentucky.

I know firsthand that being Governor isn't about left or right, it's about right and wrong — and Andy knows that, too. That's why I'm proud to support him in this important 2019 election. I hope you'll join me!

-Tim Kaine
