A Quinnipiac University poll released today shows all Democratic candidates lead Donald Trump or are in a statistical dead heat in the swing state of Florida.

  •  Joe Biden 50%  Trump 41%
  • Bernie Sanders 48%, Trump 42%
  • Elizabeth Warren 47%, Trump 43%
  • Beto O’Rourke 45%, Trump 44%
  • Pete Buttigieg 44%, Trump 43%
  • Kamala Harris 45%, Trump 44%

Among Independent Florida voters, Sanders does the best, winning that group by 17% (51%-34%). But all the Democratic candidates beat Trump by at least 6% among Independents.

Quinnipiac follows other polls that show Trump in trouble in many battleground states. A leaked internal Republican poll from March showed Trump ahead in only 2 of 17 battleground states surveyed.

Joe Biden has  the strongest numbers matched against Trump in various polls, usually with Sanders a few percent less and Warren in third position. Obviously, this Quinnipiac Poll is very good for all the candidates…except Trump who does no better than 45% even against the lesser known Democrats.

Trump officially opens his campaign tonight in Orlando. Polls like this may have made it more urgent to campaign in Florida rather than opening the campaign in say Milwaukee or Pittsburgh.

Donald Trump is in Orlando to announce the kickoff of his re-election campaign.
We’re here to announce our endorsement for president in 2020, or, at least, who we’re not endorsing: Donald Trump.
Some readers will wonder how we could possibly eliminate a candidate so far before an election, and before knowing the identity of his opponent.
Because there’s no point pretending we would ever recommend that readers vote for Trump.
After 2½ years we’ve seen enough.

From June 12 – 17, Quinnipiac University surveyed 1,279 Florida voters with a margin of error of +/- 3.3 percentage points, including the design effect.  The survey includes 417 registered Democrats with a margin of error of +/- 5.8 percentage points, including the design effect.
