She could have probably just stopped before the “the way they loved my father” bit, but point taken.
Yesterday, proving he’s very, very stable, if not a bona fide genius, the actual president of the United States, Donald J. Trump, went out of his way to smear a dead U.S. senator and war hero, calling out John McCain for his role in preserving access to lifesaving health care for millions of Americans.
Well, the late senator’s daughter, Meghan McCain, was having none of it:
No one will ever love you the way they loved my father…. I wish I had been given more Saturday’s with him. Maybe spend yours with your family instead of on twitter obsessing over mine? https://t.co/q7ezwmHiQ4— Meghan McCain (@MeghanMcCain) March 16, 2019
Also, to be clear, the Steele Dossier has not been “totally discredited.” Not by a long shot. The document, whose author, Michael Steele, initially worked for a conservative publication, has been largely corroborated. In addition, the dossier consisted of raw intelligence that required further vetting, and was never intended for public consumption.
So this was just another rancid pudding of lies, misleading statements, and crass insults directed at a dead man and his family.
In other words, just another Saturday in the White House.
