Received this e-mail today from U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D. MA):
The midterm election is not over – not in these make-or-break House races.
Right now, just a handful of votes separate these three Democratic House candidates from their Republican opponents: Gil Cisneros in California, Gina Ortiz Jones in Texas, and Carolyn Bourdeaux in Georgia.
That’s three more seats that we could win if every vote is counted.
But legal fights are expensive, and the Democratic candidates in these districts are up against a GOP machine using every dirty trick to stop votes from being counted.
Time is running out, and these three fighters still need our help. Please pitch in directly to Gil Cisneros, Gina Ortiz Jones, and Carolyn Bourdeaux’s campaigns right now. Even just $4 makes a huge difference in these House races where every single vote matters.
Gil Cisneros (CA-39) is locked in a neck-and-neck recount with his Republican opponent. Like me, Gil grew up in a working family. He is a true public servant, serving 10 years as a U.S. Naval Officer. I know that Gil will fight for veterans, students, and senior citizens in Washington.
Gina Ortiz Jones (TX-23) is trailing her Republican opponent by just a few hundred votes – and the GOP machine is determined to make that margin even bigger. An Air Force veteran and former intelligence officer, Gina is running to make sure that all kids get the opportunities she had.
Carolyn Bourdeaux (GA-07) filed an emergency motion yesterday asking a judge to make sure all absentee ballots in her Georgia district are treated fairly and equally. As a college professor at Georgia State University and the former director of Georgia’s Senate Budget and Evaluation Office, Carolyn will fight corruption and work hard to stop the influence dark money plays in our politics.
This grassroots army stepped up in a big way this year. We made a huge difference, a few dollars at a time, for the Democrats who just flipped the House, won Senate seats, and flipped governorships across the country.
I know we’ve already asked you to pitch in to help in Florida and Georgia. But there are more races all across the country still facing tough odds to make sure every vote is counted. So we’re asking you one more time to dig deep to help our Democratic House candidates who are still in this fight.
Thanks for being a part of this,
