Received two e-mails today regarding the U.S. Senate race in Texas. The first one is from the Progressives Change Campaign Committee:
Ted Cruz might not be the first place you'd look for a vote AGAINST Brett Kavanaugh, but Cruz is in deep trouble.
Women could decide the Texas Senate race in 6 weeks, and voting for Kavanaugh with his growing litany of sexual assault allegations isn't going to do him any favors.
That creates an opening.
We want to run this new full-page newspaper ad in the Austin American-Statesman in the state capital of Texas immediately — before the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Thursday — where it will be seen by voters, all the political insiders, and many other reporters.
If it sways Cruz, we defeat Kavanaugh. If it doesn't, it will ensure Cruz feels electoral pain. And that will help BetoO'Rourke defeat him in November.
We can only do this with your support!
The ad lays out not 1, not 2, but now 3 accusations of sexual misconduct — adding to the existing case that Brett Kavanaugh would be a danger to women on the Supreme Court.
Thousands of PCCC members have chipped in to help run ads pressuring Republican Senators Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski. Those ads made national headlines because of their effectiveness.
With this new hard-hitting ad, we can turn up the pressure on Ted Cruz — and make him even more vulnerable to Beto O'Rourke if Cruz goes ahead and votes against women.
Just one Republican opposing Kavanaugh in the Judiciary Committee, or two in the full Senate, will end Kavanaugh's nomination. We need your help to pressure Cruz — and make sure he feels pain if he votes for Kavanaugh.
Thanks for being a bold progressive.

The second one comes from Democracy for America:
Multiple new polls coming out of Texas — from Ipsos to PPP — have convinced the Cook Political Report and other prognosticators to recognize reality:
The Texas Senate race is now a toss-up, and Beto O’Rourke has a solid shot to defeat Ted Cruz — if his campaign has the resources to turn out Democrats and infrequent voters to the polls.
Of course, if Beto wins in November, we won't be just replacing Ted Cruz with a strong, people-powered Democrat in a red state. Beto could become the 51st vote needed to shift control of the Senate to Democrats.
As we all know from watching Mitch McConnell and his Republican cronies “plow” Brett Kavanaugh's nomination through the Senate Judiciary Committee, the stakes have generational consequences.
If you want Beto to win — and if you want to flip control of the Senate — chip in $3 or more right now to show Beto we have his back as he nears his final quarterly FEC fundraising deadline on Sept. 30.
With just 26 days left until Early Voting begins in Texas, Beto's powerful grassroots campaign is freaking out Republicans — and the billionaires who bankroll them. With the race tightening up, up to ten outside groups are now pledging to spend millions to defeat Beto.
For months, pundits called this race an absolute long-shot — and now, it’s a dead heat. That goes to show you what an inspiring leader backed by grassroots people power and funding can accomplish in just a few months.
The next four days are critically important to building Beto's momentum. If supporters like you can help Beto beat Cruz's end-of-quarter fundraising numbers by Sept. 30 — the same day as the next Senate debate between the two candidates — it will be a huge boost to Beto's campaign to flip this historically conservative Senate seat in November.
Thank you for being a part of this unprecedented grassroots movement.
