WATCH: Keith Olbermann HAMMERS Trump For Not Honoring 9/11 Victims On Twitter

Donald Trump’s first 9/11 anniversary as president was an embarrassment.

On Monday morning, Trump remained silent rather than post a message on Twitter in remembrance of those who died in the terrorist attack that will mark the lives of most Americans forever.

Indeed, when Trump finally did get around to posting something about 9/11 in the afternoon, it was a short video featuring himself.

Trump could not even post something about 9/11 on Twitter without making it all about him.

As we all know, Trump is obsessed with using Twitter, but he didn’t even bother posting something on Monday morning. Instead, he waited until he could make the day all about himself.

This is shameful and disrespectful to the nearly 3,000 Americans who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

For once, Trump should have refrained from making the day about himself, but he couldn’t do it.

And Keith Olbermann, who lost several friends that day, ripped Trump a new one for it.

“How do you not send out a tweet the morning of 9/11?” Olbermann asked.

Indeed, it’s not like Trump didn’t have any time to write a 140 character message. He often tweets before most people wake up.

“Of course Trump did talk the morning of 9/11,” Olbermann pointed out.

But Trump couldn’t even be respectful while doing that.

He kept speaking at the Pentagon as 9:58 and 10:03 moments of silence had begun. But back to simpler issue: given the manner in how demographics change, 9/11 has long since replaced the Kennedy assassination or the Challenger explosion as the life-changing moment in the psyche of the average American, and how social media has replaced television. How did Trump not send out a tweet on the morning of 9/11? How could it have waited for him until 2 in the afternoon? This man tweets constantly: promotes books by disgraced sheriffs, promotes himself on Twitter. Threatens an FBI director on Twitter. Threatens North Korea on Twitter.”

Just think about all the times in which Trump has tweeted. He often whines and issues threats and brags about himself. But he didn’t even bother tweeting about this important anniversary. It’s like he forgot it.

“He’s still tweeting insults and mindless memes about his opponent in an election that in 8 weeks will be a year ago,” Olbermann continued. “He has two accounts. And no matter how bloated with fake followers and bots they might be, he can use them to have direct access to 58 million followers — and he didn’t tweet on the morning of 9/11. When they say ‘never forget,’ this is what they are talking about.”

Here’s the video via YouTube.

So just to recap. Trump either forgot to tweet about 9/11 on Monday or he just didn’t care. And then when he finally did tweet about it, he made it about himself.

It makes all that conservative whining about Hillary Clinton experiencing dizziness during a 9/11 remembrance ceremony look even more petty now.
