Trump Is F*cked: Comey To Testify Publicly On How Trump Tried To Stop Russia Investigation (VIDEO)

Fired FBI Director James Comey is set to testify publicly before the Senate about how Donald Trump pressured him to drop the investigation into the ongoing Russia scandal.

CNN broke the news on Wednesday, saying Comey “plans to testify publicly in the Senate as early as next week to confirm bombshell accusations that President Donald Trump pressured him to end his investigation into a top Trump aide’s ties to Russia.”

Comey is expected to testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee, but as of yet, no date has been officially set and the details are still being finalized. Comey has met with Special Counsel Robert Mueller III privately “to work out the parameters for his testimony to ensure there are no legal entanglements as a result of his public account” but the former FBI director most likely won’t sit down with Mueller for a formal interview until after he testifies before the Senate.

Their private conversation likely covered what Comey is allowed to say during his public testimony. CNN explains:

When he testifies, Comey is unlikely to be willing to discuss in any detail the FBI’s investigation into the charges of possible collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign — the centerpiece of the probe, this source said. But he appears eager to discuss his tense interactions with Trump before his firing, which have now spurred allegations that the president may have tried to obstruct the investigation. If it happens, Comey’s public testimony promises to be a dramatic chapter in the months-long controversy, and it will likely bring even more intense scrutiny to an investigation that Trump has repeatedly denounced as a “witch hunt.”

Comey was fired last month after he testified before Congress that the FBI is actively investigating Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election as well as the possibility that Trump’s campaign was colluding with the Kremlin. His firing came just one day after he requested more resources to ramp up the investigation. Following his surprise firing, Comey revealed that Trump had pressured him to drop the investigation into the shady Russian ties of his former National Security Advisor, Mike Flynn. At which point Mueller was named as special counsel to oversee the probe.

The Senate Intelligence Committee is also investigating Trump’s possible collusion with Russia and Comey’s testimony is likely to be explosive. My advice is to start stocking up on popcorn now.

“The bottom line is he’s going to testify,” a source told CNN. “He’s happy to testify, and he’s happy to cooperate.”
