Romney Tries to Etch-a Sketch Past Statements on Getting bin Laden in Pakistan

4/30/12 On the anniversary of the death of Osama bin Laden, Mitt Romney insists that he would have made the same decision as President Obama did a year ago to order the killing of bin Laden. “Even Jimmy Carter would have made that call.” Romney scoffed. But when candidate Obama pledged in 2007 that he’d go after bin Laden in Pakistan, Romney attacked Obama’s statement as “ill-considered.” The President isn’t buying Romney’s latest flip-flop. “I said that we’d go after bin Laden if we had a clear shot at him and I did,” Obama said today. “If there are others who’ve said one thing and now suggest they’d do something else, then I’d go ahead and let them explain,” Let the explaining begin.
