Mitt Romney Thinks Obama Supporters Are All Freeloaders

Those of us who support Barack Obama – 47 percent of Americans – are all just a bunch of freeloaders who sees ourselves as victims who all think we are entitled, and we take no personal responsibility for ourselves; at least this is what Mitt Romney thinks of us.

A video produced by Mother Jones shows Romney speaking at a fundraiser to a bunch of wealthy donors, disparaging Obama supporters. A piece of the clip shows Mitt responding to a question asked him:

“There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that’s an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax…[M]y job is not to worry about those people. I’ll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives.”

I have news for Mitt Romney; Barack Obama supporters are not all freeloaders and we are not dependent on government. In fact, many of us work and have all our lives. I am one of those people — one of the 47 percent who will vote for Barack Obama this election — so I take it he is talking about me, behind my back no less.

We finally heard what Mitt Romney really thinks of half the American people in this country. He let us know that he will not be serving our interest in the White House if he is elected.

The 47 percent he speaks of include union workers, service industry workers, elderly people who have no income but their social security checks. That 47 percent include small business people like me, trying to build a business from the ground up with no capital at all, just determination and dreams to carry them. Not victims at all, as you say we think of ourselves.

As far as paying taxes, I am sure many of those Obama-supporting Americans that Mitt Romney slammed pay more percentage wise in taxes than he does.

I do predict that this little video will prove ruinous for the Romney campaign. At least a few percentage points will probably be the cost of his remarks and he cannot afford any more loss as he is down in the polls as it is.

I am certain some independents who have been riding the fence about who to vote for, will finally see the man for who he is and cast their votes for Barack Obama. As far as whom the man, Mitt Romney is; that troubling question I think was answered quite well by his answer in the video clip. Mitt Romney is someone who has no idea what life is like for average Americans. He does not see their struggle, their suffering or their dreams. Instead, he sees them as just leeches and parasites that do not matter.

This election we have a clear choice, especially now that we know more about Mitt Romney’s heart; we can choose someone who sees almost half America as being all losers or someone who has a real plan to get America back on its feet again, and it is working.  Let us not trade in the slow train to a better future, under Obama, for a train wreck to a disaster under a Romney presidency.
