Biography
We live in a world of make-believe institutionalized by man-made systems of control which seek to disparage, undermine, and enslave society. Let Scott Mullin and Sean Namanny (aka Upside Downtrodden) help set you free. They're making a documentary film about it all, and somewhere along the way, they decided to chronicle their amazing journey with lively podcasts that you can find on iTunes and juicy articles that you can enjoy right here on The Politicus.

It’s Sunday October 28th! Do you know where your podcast is? On this day in history back in 1919, Congress passed the Volstead Act providing the enforcement of Prohibition which became the law of the land with the 18th Amendment to The U.S. Constitution. If you’re not sure why Prohibition didn’t work, open a history book and take your pick from the myriad of reasons. We’re looking at you, organized crime. And speaking of reason, it’s never a good reason to legislate religious beliefs. If you’re not sure why legislating religious beliefs doesn’t work, open a history book and take your pick from the myriad of options. We’re looking at you, Prohibition. And speaking of options, it’s nice to have them. Who wouldn’t want to have choices when it comes to life’s big decisions? If you’re not sure why limiting choice doesn’t work, open a history book and take your pick from the myriad of examples. We’re looking at you, back-alley abortions. In this country (and by extension this world), one size certainly does not fit all. Whether it be The Federal Council of Churches of yesterday (which is now The National Council of Churches) pushing Prohibition, or The Christian Coalition of today pushing (take a big breath) the repeal of Obamacare, the protection of The Defense of Marriage Act, the permanency of The Bush Tax Cuts, opposition to The Fairness Doctrine, opposition to stem cell research, opposition to gays serving openly in the military, and general opposition to any forward-thinking initiative that might make the world a better place, using God (any God) to justify your claim to virtue and right to force your religious beliefs onto others is an act of abhorrent violence that is indefensible, irredeemable, and utterly repugnant. It’s as Benjamin Franklin said, “When a Religion is good, I conceive it will support itself; and, when it cannot support itself, and God does not take care to support it, so that its Professors are obliged to call for the help of the Civil Power, it is a sign, I apprehend, of its being a bad one.” We couldn’t have said it any better ourselves. Anything we had to say, we probably said in our brand new podcast episode which you can download right now on iTunes. Do it today while you still have a choice!
