Jeffrey Lord Fired From CNN After Giving Nazi Salute On Twitter

Jeffrey Lord, a longtime supporter of Donald Trump and all around shitty human being in general, has been after he posted the Nazi salute “Sieg Heil” on Twitter.

Lord got into an online spat with Angelo Carusone, president of Media Matters for America. The liberal group has criticized Lord repeatedly in the past and has also been promoting a boycott of Fox News.

Obviously angry, Lord lashed out in a column for The American Spectator on Thursday morning in which he said “Media Matters Fascists” are “anti-free speech bigots who, in typical fascist style, make it their mission to shut down speech they don’t like.” He then tweeted the article to Carusone.

Carusone replied, pointing out that Lord had misspelled his name in the headline.

Lord’s response is what got him fired.

Despite the backlash, Lord has defended his tweet and refused to take it down, insisting that he was “mocking Nazis and Fascists.” So, according to Lord, that makes it all okay.

“Why would I delete something that mocks the Fascists at Media Matters Fascists?” Lord asked.

Carusone tweeted the network on Thursday, blasting them for failing “to hold Jeffrey Lord to any kind of standard.”

However, CNN apparently wasn’t impressed with Lord’s excuse. He has so far refused to comment on his firing, but a spokesperson for the network made it quite clear where they stand on the matter of “Nazi salutes.”

“Nazi salutes are indefensible. Jeffrey Lord is no longer with the network,” said a statement released by CNN.
