This is a republish from Yahoo, which I am a contributor of.

I am a middle-class American. I am red, I am blue, and I am purple. I live in the suburbs, I live in the city, I live in the country and I live by the sea.

I believe in God and I don’t believe in God. I am white, I am black, I am brown and I am yellow.

I am Christian and I am Muslim, I am Jewish and I am Hindu, I am Buddhist, and I am Atheist.

I work two jobs and I want the best for my children. I am concerned about my health and that of my family. I vote and I don’t vote. I am a Democrat and I am a Republican

I am a middle-class American. I am a man and I am a woman, I am a gay person and I am heterosexual. I am trans-gender and I am transsexual.

I am married and I am single, I live in a house, and I live in an apartment.

I am conservative and I am liberal. I believe in a woman’s right to choose and I abhor abortion.

I believe firmly in the Second Amendment and I believe in gun control. I am prejudice and I believe in equality for all.

I am a middle-class American, I am unique and I am the same as all my fellow Americans. I love and I hate. I grow enlightened and I remain in the dark.

I am blind and I can see, I am brave and I am afraid. I am alone and I have friends.

I am greedy and I am generous. I am strong and I am weak.

I am a middle-class American, I am one man and I am one woman. I am one boy and I am one girl.

I am a soldier and I am a civilian. I am a hero and I am a victim. I believe in my country and I burn my nation’s flag. I am one nation and I am many.

I am a middle-class American. I struggle to pay my bills and I have a good job. I face being homeless and I am buying a new house. I am compassionate and I am indifferent.

I am a middle-class American and though I am not rich, I am not poor. I work and I play, and I give and I take. I am a middle-class American, and I am one person and I am many.
