Donald Trump Is Causing Severe Problems For Fox News And It Is GLORIOUS

Republicans love to talk to Fox News over everyone else because they know that the network will put them in a favorable light, particularly when it comes to every nasty thing they are and stand for. But apparently, when it comes to defending Donald Trump, the number of Republicans who can bring themselves to do that publicly is rapidly shrinking. It’s shrinking so badly that even Fox News can’t find anyone willing to go on their shows to defend him.

And don’t think they didn’t try. According to Shep Smith (who, admittedly, is one of the rare sane people working at that network), their talented booking team is having serious problems:

Our booking team — and they’re good — reached out to Republicans of all stripes across the country today.

Let’s be honest, Republicans don’t often really mind coming on Fox News Channel. We couldn’t get anyone to come and defend him here because we thought, in balance, someone should do that.”

Like Trump’s business councils, which were just disbanded following a mass exodus, it’s almost like Republicans think being associated with someone who draws praise from hate groups makes them somehow look bad.

The list of Republicans willing to call out Nazism and white supremacy, and the hate that they stand for, is growing as the list of those who want to support Trump is shrinking. Everyone from Paul Ryan to Marco Rubio to Mitt Romney is denouncing white supremacy as repulsive, racist, bigoted, and un-American.

Other Fox News hosts, including Kat Timpf and Charles Krauthammer, slammed Trump for his remarks as well. When Laura Ingraham tried to dismiss his comments as getting “caught in kind of the pundit trap,” Krauthammer shot back by calling Trump’s words “a moral disgrace.” And here’s what both Bush Jr. and Bush Sr. have to say about it:

Even Trump’s chief of staff, General John Kelly, was visibly upset by Trump’s remarks. He was recorded looking down at the floor, arms folded, shoulders hunched, and shifting from foot to foot while Trump’s remarks went farther and farther off the rails. Various photographers caught pictures of him rolling his eyes or otherwise looking angry or disbelieving.

The dominoes keep falling. Eventually, Trump’s support will literally only be the white supremacy hate groups.
