In Canceling Obama’s Cuba Policy, Trump May Have Just Given A Veiled Bribe To Marco Rubio

Today, a lot of people were surprised (and not in a good way) that Donald Trump . Trump called the policy “a completely one-sided deal,” which, of course, he thinks all our policies are and is his justification for canceling them or yanking us out of them. Trump claims he’ll “expose the crimes of the Castro regime” with his new policy:

[Obama] made a deal with a government that spread violence and instability in the region and nothing they got, think about it, nothing they got, they fought for everything and we just didn’t fight hard enough, but now, those days are over… We now hold the cards. The previous administration’s easing of restrictions of travel and trade does not help the Cuban people. They only enrich the Cuban regime.”

But there may be something a little darker in Trump’s decision here, and it lies with Marco Rubio, who sits on the Senate Intelligence Committee and was an active participant in the hearings for both James Comey and Jeff Sessions. to move on Cuba, and now, it looks as though this might be a “you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours” move by Trump.

In early May, Rubio told Trump that his plan to crack down on Cuba was under threat, particularly from government officials who want to continue Obama’s policy of warmer relations with the island nation. Because of that, he suggested that Trump do this alone, and insisted that the circle of people working on this be kept very small to prevent potential leaks. That was on May 3. On May 9, Director Comey was fired. The night of June 7, Rubio, along with Tom Cotton, had dinner with Trump. On June 8, Comey testified to the Senate Intelligence Committee and Rubio went at him hard.

While there’s no actual proof that this was, indeed, a bribe, like the rest of Trump’s moves lately, it looks suspicious as hell. Everything about Trump is suspicious as hell.
