After Everyone Laughs at Him, Trump Decides Against Russian Cyber-Security Unit (TWEETS)

On Sunday, Donald Trump walked back his earlier claim that he and Vladimir Putin would be solidifying their bromance by teaming up on American (and Russian) cybersecurity.

After Trump’s decision to team up with Vladimir Putin to — well, in Trump’s words, ensure that “election hacking and many other negative things” (whatever they may be) “will be guarded.”

The notion of protecting such horrible actions — or teaming up with a brutal dictator who engineered a massive attack on our election — didn’t sit well with Democrats, Republicans, or aardvarks, so Trump decided he probably should scrap the plan before his approval rating dips down past syphilis.

“The fact that President Putin and I discussed a Cyber Security unit doesn’t mean I think it can happen,” Trump tweeted. “It can’t-but a ceasefire can,& did!”

this, of course, is very embarrassing for Trump Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, who called the supervillain team-up “a very important step forward.”

Naturally, Americans stopped by to mock Trump’s seemingly indefatigable stupidity:

Trump and Putin met for two hours in a friendly session that was supposed to last a mere half-hour. The two were so inseparable that staffers sent Melania to break up the chat, but she was unsuccessful after multiple attempts.

Watching The Donald chum it up with a hostile foreign leader was perhaps one of the most disgraceful things to happen during Trump’s presidency — and he’s just getting started.
