On Wednesday, the United States, Russia, Germany, France, China, and Britain staged an intervention for Iran to get it to come to terms with its use of threats about nuclear weapons.
At 6:00 in the evening, Iran returned home from work to find all six nations sitting and waiting for it. A facilitator from the United Nations began the conversation.
“Iran, my name is Michael. Your friends are very worried about you, and we would like to talk to you about your problem with nuclear weapons.”
Iran immediately got defensive. “Fuck you guys! I don't need to listen to this!”
“Yes, I think you do,” said the United States, taking Iran by the arm and leading it to a chair.
“I swear to god I will fuck you guys up!” yelled Iran.
“Ah oui. We know.” said France, rolling its eyes. Read more
While the mainstream media (MSM) obsessed on the death of popstars, Mary Kennedy, and superpac ads, today the House passed another bill pushing the date of an Iran attack even closer. With bi-partisan support, the House passed HRes568 which essentially ties the President’s hand in dealing with Iran. S. Res.380 is the Senate’s version. Read more
Great Britain’s Prime Minister David Cameron came to D.C. and met with the President (for a reason I’m unaware of). The joint appearance was filled with threatening rhetoric by the President relating to Iran’s nuclear ambitions and solidarity between the two nations. PM Cameron assured the bond between the age-old allies is never-ending and their interests remain the same.
Among the topics discussed were the ongoing struggle in the Middle East and of course, Afghanistan, where British casualties total to 404 compared to near-1800 Americans. Once again the President stopped short of rejecting intervention and decried of the human rights abuses (while ignoring our allies own). Read more

The title, How the End Begins: The Road to a Nuclear World War III, could not be more ominous or, depending on your perspective on nuclear weapons, alarmist. Author Ron Rosenbaum has a definitive point of view about the danger of nuclear weapons as he waxes throughout the book about holocausts and the immorality of mass retaliation. Rosenbaum does not, however, ignore the side of the nuclear believers who state that nuclear weapons, through deterrence, have actually made the world safer and saved millions of lives. Rather than a driven point of view, Rosenbaum instead takes the reader on a meandering path pondering the history, danger, role, and, most importantly, morality of nuclear weapons. Read more
Some apparent double-talk from new Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.

Benjamin Netanyahu, taking office as Israel's new leader Tuesday, promised to seek "full peace" with the Arab and Muslim world, but refused to utter the words the world was waiting to hear: "Palestinian state."
"Under the permanent status agreement, the Palestinians will have all the authority to rule themselves," Netanyahu said in comments that appeared to hark back to a decades-old notion that peace could be achieved through limited Palestinian autonomy.
He's claiming he wants "full peace" but he refuses to acknowledge the need for an independent Palestinian state free of occupation and oppression from a foreign power. Surely he must experience some cognitive dissonance. Trouble is, Netanyahu has explicitly pointed out on numerous occasions that he has no intention of recognizing a Palestinian state, and considers any attempt at a peace process a "
waste of time."
