Religion Often Excuse for Violent and Evil Acts

October 20, 2012 by fidlerten

Though we are religious or not, most of us understand that using religion as a tool to commit violent acts against innocent people, such as young Malala Yousufzai, a brave young intelligent girl from Pakistan, is not godly at all, in any since of the word. It does not matter if you are Christian, Muslim or Jewish; committing violent acts is only evil, nothing more and especially nothing close to godliness.

Malala was recently shot on a bus with two other girls, her being the target. Because she championed Pakistani girls’ rights to an education, she now lies in a hospital bed, trying to recover after being shot in the head and neck. My last update I heard was that she was recovering well and for that, we can give thanks to God.

There are hundreds of millions of religious people and there are many who are fervent about their beliefs. There is nothing wrong with someone being fervent about his or her beliefs; I certainly am. However, there is a very small minority of religious zealots or fanatics, you might say, that use their religion as a tool for evil.    Read more

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, speaking at an Eid ul-Fitr reception marking the end of Ramadan, spoke clearly of what many Americans, especially Christians feel about the video at the center of the attacks on the embassy in Benghazi. The attack killed four U.S. Embassy staff, including U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens.    Read more

This is a republish from Yahoo, which I am a contributor of.

I am a middle-class American. I am red, I am blue, and I am purple. I live in the suburbs, I live in the city, I live in the country and I live by the sea.

I am Christian and I am Muslim, I am Jewish and I am Hindu, I am Buddhist, and I am Atheist.

I work two jobs and I want the best for my children. I am concerned about my health and that of my family. I vote and I don’t vote. I am a Democrat and I am a Republican    Read more

Michelle Bachmann’s Conspiracy Theory Shows She’s Unfit for Congress

July 27, 2012 by fidlerten

Michelle Bachmann again has shown us that she is an oxymoron to the intelligence committee she belongs to in the House of Representatives. She and a handful of other Republican House members have been on an adventure into trying to pin the title of “Islamic Extremist Spy” on a Hillary Clinton aide, Huma Abedin. In fact, she’s accusing the woman of even influencing State Dept. policy as a reason she’s working for Hillary in the first place.    Read more

Santorum Sweeps So-called Front Runner In Southern Victory

March 14, 2012 by fidlerten

Among the many promises from the GOP candidates, Gingrich’s “grandiose” promise to make gas $2.50 didn’t resonate with southern voters as a result of the Mississippi and Alabama–and Hawaii–primaries. Santorum took Alabama with xx percent and Romney took Mississippi with xx percent.

A third of Tea Party (a big deal!) voters went for Santorum and women voters faired the same. The unapologetic social conservative defied the Left who predicted his focus on reproductive health would turn women away.    Read more

Palin On Muslim Profiling

November 19, 2009 by Andrew17

Doesn’t Sarah Palin know you can say you love freedom and in the same breath feel people should be profiled? That’s so contradictory!!! Guess she’s not a Thomas Jefferson fan who once said "A society that will trade a little liberty for a little order will lose both, and deserve neither"    Read more
